In episode 2x02, when Charming went to Rumpelstiltskin for a way to trace Jefferson, Rumpelstiltskin asks whom Charming’s looking for, and Charming refuses to say.
In 2x04, he very casually says re: Rumple’s search for Belle, “Why don’t you just use what you gave me to find Jefferson?” (approx)

I am so excited for this.
First off it has been said that Daniel (Noah Bean) Reginas True Love, will return in the episode “The Doctor”. Now ABC trying to be all tricky and such, make the clips in the promos less than a second long and flash by quickly. But like the fans that we are we will dissect this promo bit by bit. (no pun intended)
Here we see young Regina, with what seems to be a DOCTOR…hence the medical bag and a lab coat very much resembling Dr Frankensteins, except for the color. I believe the other person in the picture is Jefferson, it is a known fact that Jefferson and Regina have been “frenemies” for a while. So she probably sent Jefferson to look for him.
Now i too have thought about Dr Whale being…King Arthur, Peter Pan, Zeus etc…but lets not forget that Storybrooke characters resemble their fairytale character in some way. Example, Mary Margaret Blanchard…”blancharde” means pale in french hence her being Snow White. Little Red Riding Hood as Ruby (red), Rumpelstiltskin as Mr Gold because he would spin gold out of straw.
Now i have done some research and discovered that James Whale was an english film director in which he is best remembered for films such as The Invisible Man, Frankenstein(1931) and Bride of Frankenstein(1935). Thus answering our question of why Dr Whale is called Dr Whale….it is in reference to the director of great horror films James WHALE.
What do you guys think??

Re: the above, and Jefferson knowing about what room she was in: maybe Jefferson’s curse in Storybrooke, the curse of knowing both lives, also means knowing everything. He doesn’t just have his two lives locked in his head, but everyone else’s. Alternatively, idk, maybe he’s got some shady ass friends and wasn’t completely house-locked for those 28 years.
